Valley Pets Return Visit

Valley Pets was largely the same as the last time I visited. They had a few less aquatic plants and the tanks in the front right corner have been set up with goldfish and turtles. They have a big pile of tanks in plastic at the front left of the store and the supplies still occupy the middle of the store. I guess they decided not to venture into saltwater fish like they told me they were. No worries, I think it was a good choice. Focus on one aspect of the hobby and do it well. Valley pets does freshwater fish well! They also do plants and planted tanks well.

One thing I did notice is the fish they offer are quite young. This is both good and bad. Good in they will grow out and live a long time for you. Bad in they may not make it long term as fry are more fragile. If I lived closer, I would still buy their fish. As with any live animals though, its buyer beware (caveat emptor). The prices on the fish food are better than I have seen anywhere else, and I almost picked some up, but they were out of the one I prefer. All this said, I still rank them as one of the best LFS south of the Denver Metro.
