Underwater Wonders

Underwater Wonders barely made this LFS blog because they specialize in Installation and Maintenance of Saltwater Aquariums as well as the occasional Freshwater system. My photos of their place leave a lot to be desired in more ways than one! I should probably buy a blue light filter for saltwater lighting, but just have not done it yet. The brown colored filters work best from my experience. Of course, it depends on the lighting, if both the blue and red light spectrums are dialed up it is extremely difficult to get a good-looking photo.

Seth Wheeler told me they propagate the majority of their corals and use them based on the aquarium. They feel it is very important to conserve the majestic reefs that have provided so much inspiration for both them and the client. He certainly talks a good game! From the look of the tanks in their store front, I have no doubt they can deliver.

The store is located at 1007 N College Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80524. Call them, (970) 308-3609, to set up an appointment either for I & M or a retail visit. They do not have open retail hours, which is why they barely made my list, though I just showed up and toured the shop. I lucked out! Their focus is on the big showy systems and not the nano tank. They certainly had some impressively sized aquariums, both set up and empty.

The takeaway here is if you would like a show tank set up for your home and/or business in Northern Colorado or Southern Wyoming this is the place to call. For the home aquarist who wishes to find nice specimens for their saltwater system, it is totally worth checking them out. Here is a link to their Facebook page. They also have some supplies and an actually nice selection of driftwood which surprised me. See my pics. In fact, I will let my sad pictures tell the rest of the story.
