Tropical Pet Oasis is located in Parker, CO, specifically at 10336 Dransfeldt Rd Unit 8, Parker, CO 80134. The hours are Monday – Wednesday: By Appointment, Thursday – Friday: 1pm – 7pm, Saturday: 10am – 6pm, and Sunday Closed. They specialize in Saltwater aquariums, installation, custom tanks, maintenance, and livestock. They do the same with Freshwater.
The store has a cozy office space as you enter with an impressive saltwater display tank behind the counter. The main display space has saltwater fish and inverts to the left, corals down the center, and freshwater fish and plants on the right. Contrary to many of the stores I have visited lately, they have a beautiful tank of freshwater plants which I felt like demonstrated their understanding of the importance they play in the freshwater ecosystem. This stores staff shows a deep appreciation and love for the aquarium hobby. All the freshwater tanks where nicely aquascaped (as much as can be done when frequently moving fish around) and the fish were active and healthy. They even had a few shrimp tanks, though their stock was low. I don’t have a lot of experience with saltwater systems, and I just don’t understand corals or their appeal, yet I can tell a nice frag tank set up when I see it. Theirs is top notch! The saltwater fish tanks were all stocked with fish, which again, is rare these days, so kudos.
The only thing I can think of which I don’t care for is their hours, but this seems to be the norm with this type of LFS these days. The store is clean, the tanks are well displayed and attractive, the staff is very friendly and helpful, they have the supplies one needs, so I rate this store very highly for anyone in the Parker area. Definitely add this LFS to your fish crawl list!
