The LFS Experience

The reason I think doing business with a LFS (Local Fish Store) is better comes down to a few simple things. These were mentioned in an earlier blog, but to summarize, knowledgeable and caring customer service, unique, sometimes rare, fish, plants, and inverts, and better overall quality. I like to create ecosystems, not just a water box with fish. Not to dish the simple bare bottom aquarium for keeping large fish or in smaller breeding tanks. The folks at your LFS will know all the different ways we keep aquatic animals and can help with your projects.

What I also realize by starting this LFS Blog, many will find it useful, though some may not. My experience at a store will be different than yours! I get that and it’s Okay. In my other blog, Transitions, I cover life and how it works or why it doesn’t. Please go take a look if you are so moved. Use the search features in the lower right of the homepage. What I discuss there is that life is a Spiritual experience and an extension of who you are. That is to say, your experience is an expression of who you are and where you are at that moment. Judge not, lest ye be judged. As you see them, you see yourself. If this does not make any sense to you, go check out my other blog.

This said, my goal here is to give you the tools to make informed decisions without telling you what to do. Just because I love a place for their nano fish, you may be into monster fish and the store would do you no good. Eventually I will be putting a list together based on category as well as location. The list will be in downloadable format. For now, if you want a full list of LFS which I put together when I was President of CAS, go to ColoradoAquarium.org/sponsors. If you have specific questions, I am happy to assist, just use the contact link on this website.
