Seascape Aquatics

Seascape Aquatics is located near the corner of N. Union and N. Academy Blvd. - 5038 N. Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. Their hours are 11-6 Tues – Friday, 10-6 Saturday, and 12-5 Sunday. They are closed on Mondays. If you have never been to this LFS and live in the area, I recommend you stop by. I call this place a classic LFS. They have both salt and freshwater along with the supplies to go with. Their selection of supplies is surprisingly good for this small a store. They even have a few aquariums for sale. As a family run business, they have come back strong since closing during the pandemic. The new store front looks great, just compare my picture in the gallery below, taken in 2019, with the new one which has a yellow butterfly fish.

The livestock is in the back with freshwater on the left and saltwater on the right. A simple layout that works very well. The store has no specialty per se and does a great job with all aspects of the hobby on a small scale. The two display tanks in the front lobby are worth the trip just to see them. I could not get good photos as they were cleaning the tanks when I was there. I took side shots though which turned out pretty good. In the freshwater isle I like that each tank is planted to some degree. The display of the fish, including the lighting is very well done. It is easy to see the fish and it makes the decision of what to buy so much easier. Not much to critic here, other than they always seem to be cleaning the tanks every time I have visited. Most stores do it either before or after opening. I guess the nice thing about having your own store is you can do things however you like. (This is your clue to laugh)

This is the fourth time I have visited Seascape Aquatics and the last store on the Front Range. There are three stores on the western slope and those will be featured in the next month or so. While the fish selection here at Seascape varies a bit as does the plants, the rest of the store is remarkably consistent. For me at least, I like this dependability in a store. As an athlete one of the hardest things to do is remain consistent in your performance and I believe this extends to business. The livestock here are well kept and the supplies easy to find. This is a good solid LFS that I recommend to anyone in the aquarium hobby.
