Reefstock 2023

ReefStock returns to Denver again this weekend. The event started back in ‘04 so we are nearing the 20 year mark for this traditional Saltwater Reef keeping event. The show is centered around corals, though every aspect of the hobby is represented. The vendors range from a newcomer in our local market, MC Aquatics, to well established worldwide vendors, Fritz and Carib Sea. New this year is the freshwater vendor corner with three vendors, including BuyPetShrimp.com and MB Bettas. With 70 vendors this year it is even bigger and better than ever. They have 8 world class speakers including Archit Agarwal and Chris Meckley. Last but not least there are lots of Raffle giveaways.

The event is taking place at the Crown Plaza Airport Convention Center just off I-70 at Chambers Rd. This place is huge so it takes a while to get around the whole place. Since I am not really into the Saltwater scene, I did not stay long. My goal here is simply to bring an iconic Denver aquarium event to my readers, and I honesty don’t remember or know of a bigger aquatic event that regularly comes to Denver or even Colorado. Now that they are allowing Freshwater vendors, I get the feeling the skies are the limit for this show.

Just a warning, the photo section will be a bit long this time around as it will contain commentary. If there is no comment, the photo is self explanatory.

Coming into the venue there is the check in desk with merchandise. At the door they are giving away ICP water testing. To see a list of all of the vendors check on the website, link above. I did not photo every booth, just the ones I liked and seemed of more interest to everyone.

As you can see the place is big! This is only about a 1/3rd of the event.

MC Aquatics is a new everything LFS in SE Denver Metro. Their booth is big and packed with nice corals and all that go with. I am impressed with this store and the booth is not so bad either.

Aquarium Wholesale's booth had some good products like the ArtReefRocks. The Coralvue booth had some freshwater displays done by Fish Crew in Ft. Collins.

The Freshwater area had two vendors, Sera and BuyPetShrimp. Both booths were excellent. I got some nice fish food samples from Sera and the Shrimp booth had some beautiful shrimp and fair prices on the stuff to go with.

More of the vendors from all over really, not just Colorado.

The raffle table had some awesome stuff, and they were doing a fund raiser for Jake Adams' family. Jake passed unexpectedly on a trip to Bali last year. Two Little Fishies had a big booth and Julian Sprung is one of the speakers.

Oliver Knott & Pisces's booth had both salt and freshwater aquascaping items. The other booths are fairly self-explanatory. I trust these photos gives you an idea of what to expect if you are able to visit tomorrow or if not then you have an idea of what to expect next year. Personally, I am hoping for more freshwater vendors. The one thing we did not see here are impressive display tanks. So, if you are looking for pretty fishes, this is not your event.
