Pet Paradise 2024

Pet Paradise serves the southern Colorado wet pet community. They’re located at 1115 Pueblo Blvd Way, Pueblo, CO 81005 and the hours are 9-7 Monday thru Saturday, 11-5 on Sunday. A charming atrium greets you at the entrance with two koi ponds, jungle plants, art, birds, bunnies, and the pet salon. A big tank of red bellied piranha sits to the far right. While the store strives to serve the entire pet community, to me it seems they do best with birds and fish. This store reminds me of Pet World in Lakewood, but on steroids! They have tons of tanks and aquarium supplies plus all the wet pets one would desire. The range of fish goes from monster fish to nano fish, to goldfish, to stingrays, to saltwater.

They really do have a wonderful selection in both the freshwater and saltwater departments which are in separate rooms, which I find useful and appropriate. While I was there, I learned I had just missed their 50th anniversary celebration last weekend. I cannot think of any other fish departments in the state which have been around that long.

The fish section is to the left in back of the store. It is raised, which I found curious, so be sure to step up. There’s a display ‘trough’ in front of the department which had been cleaned up since the last time I was here. Though the store does show its age in places, all the tanks and cages are clean and the livestock healthy. I saw no signs of dis-ease or dis-stress in any of the animals, although I will say the Monster fish could use a bit more room. This store gives me good vibes and a welcoming feel, which I can easily say is not the norm. The saltwater room has been nicely redone with the tank looking well cared for and the fish happy and healthy.

While I am not a bird keeper, I am impressed with the selection of birds they had. The reptiles, amphibians, and rodents are to the back of the store in the right corner. This pet store and LFS has a charm to it that makes the pet community in Pueblo and So. Colorado most fortunate. The selection of both aquatic animals and products makes this store more than adequate for the average aquarist. Please check out the current photos posted below to see this wonderful LFS in detail. My previous blogs are linked at the bottom. The staff is both knowledgeable and helpful, so if you are in the area, maybe it’s time for a visit.
