New LFS in the Springs

Colorado Springs has a new LFS in the mix. InsideReef had their grand opening December 17th, of which I did not know about, or I would have been there. They are located at 1820 Dominion Way, Colorado Springs, CO 80918 and their hours are 11-6pm Monday thru Saturday, Closed on Thursday, open Sunday 12-6. Now that I have visited, I’m really impressed with the potential the place has to become the go to LFS in the Springs. They are attempting to be an all-around fish store with both Saltwater and Fresh. The store has a nice layout with each of 4 rows of tanks being dedicated to one category, Saltwater Fish, Saltwater Corals, Freshwater Plants, and Freshwater Fish. We will see how long these designations last. I hear there will be more tanks going in for some monster fish. The supplies section is still quite sparse, though with time they plan on getting it better stocked. The opening was a big success as they did not have a lot of fish available on the saltwater side and mostly Angelfish on the freshwater side. Ray, one of the owners, said they are happy to do special orders of fish as long as they can find a source. The past few years Ray and Derick have been doing Installations and Maintenance, so if you need help with this just ask.

Since the place is so new, they have some growing to do and I have high hopes for the place. Ray seems very knowledgeable and friendly. A person anyone would be happy doing business with. They are entering the LFS business in Colorado Springs at an opportune time. The options to find fish and support in the aquarium hobby are slim there and I feel like the demand will pick them up like a wave. How far it takes them remains to be seen. Check out my photos below for an overview and if you have the chance, go give them your support.
