Liquid Kingdom at 6470 W 120th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80020, had a disaster overnight on May 18th when a drainage pipe burst under their store. It flooded the whole place and brought with it mud and muck. They were closed for 2 weeks while they worked on moving their tanks and cleaning up the mess, then setting things back up. Fortunately, they did not have to move every tank, though I can only imagine the effort it took to restore the place back to its former glory. Here is what the place looked like. (Photos taken off their Facebook page)
On Monday I visited to see how things were going and picked up a few items for my saltwater tank. As you can see in the photos below all is well. There are a few signs things have been moved with aquascapes jumbled, but for the most part, things are back where they belong. There is also livestock in almost every tank. Just looking around it is easy to think they don’t have what you are looking for and then when you ask, Tom or Deborah, the owners (father and daughter), pull it out. I am so impressed with the friendly service and can do attitude they have. I can see why they have been around so long.
This LFS is such a joy to visit, I could spend hours looking through all their tanks. I found several “surprises” like eels tucked away or fish peeking out from behind a shell. This store is not like other LFS with dedicated sections for fish, coral, and inverts. Here they are all mixed together in happy little aquascapes. Between this and the service, I can recommend a visit with the highest regard. Also, if they don’t have what you seek, they will get it for you. Be sure to read my previous blogs on them below. And get over there and see what you have been missing. (Or not, your choice)
