Liquid Kingdom, in Bloomfield, remains one of my favorite places for saltwater aquaria. The saltwater fish selection they have ranks above any other saltwater store I have been to in CO. On this visit, I timed it just right as all the tanks were just cleaned and everything sparkled. The tanks here are all well-established saltwater systems with more than just fish in a glass box. Check out my photos to see what I mean. The whole place is packed with aquariums with just the right amount of supplies and foods. There are no big racks of equipment or supplements, though they do have what you need. Their philosophy is not to compete with online retailers, but rather offer what you may need in a pinch. Since this is a family operated business, the service is top notch and friendly. Please read my previous blog for more on this. The pictures below are just a few of the fish I found interesting.
I stopped into About Fish, in Westminster, mainly to see the finished cichlid fish rack. It and the fish look great. I am especially taken with the Brichardi Daffodils, as well as the F1 similis shell dwellers. As you can see from my few pictures, the tanks go on for days and this is just half of them. It’s interesting that two of the best LFS in Colorado are right along the same highway, one for Saltwater fish and one for Freshwater. I think it is good they complement each other now, instead of competing. About Fish has a larger selection of supplies but I would not say better. There are several blogs I have done on About Fish so this update will remain short. Thanks for supporting your local fish store, LFS.
