General LFS Update

In my travels to LFS recently I can say there has been little change. Which in my view is a good thing. The two big changes are Aqua Rocks Colorado Warehouse more than doubling in size when it was big to start with. They have come a long way in the past 3 years from a small store front to a huge warehouse serving both retail and wholesale customers nationwide. See my latest blog on them here.

The other LFS who is growing like crazy is MC Aquatics. They recently merged with Murrman’s Reef and is totally remodeling the store in a step-by-step fashion. MC Aquatics – Denver is what the store is now called, and they carry freshwater livestock and supplies now in addition to the saltwater the store had before. They have some awesome sales going on now, so be sure to check them out. I am working on getting more information on the new MC Aquatics – Pueblo, and will report on that new store when I can. The latest blog is here.

Ft. Collins has three LFS and each of them is status quo. Underwater Wonders remains the best saltwater store in Northern Colorado and Wyoming. If you have not visited this LFS and you love corals and saltwater displays, then put it on your fish crawl list! See my blog on this store for an idea of what they offer. I do know they have added more tanks since I was there. Alpine Reef and Koi has been leaning heavily on the Pond World side of their business for a long time and they are still looking to sell. If they cannot find a buyer soon, they will probably just close the store and sell the land to a developer since they do have a prime location. See my most recent blog on them here. Fish Crew seems totally status quo as I just saw a great youtube video tour of the store by Fritz. They are the best all-around LFS in Northern Colorado and offer everything one would need for just about any tank.

If you know of any developments in the LFS world in Colorado, please let me know. I do plan on going to the western front area, namely Grand Junction and Craig this summer, so stay tuned for those blogs. Thanks to all my readers. Please share this blog with anyone who may be interested.
