The Fish Crew is a store which is well known in aquarium circles from Denver to Wyoming. They often attend fish shows in CO and advertise quite a lot. So, if you have not been there yet, there’s no time like the present. The store is located at 1414 E Harmony Rd Unit 1, Fort Collins, CO 80525. Just west of the Safeway store. Their hours are Mon., Tues., Thur., & Fri. 12-7 pm, Wed closed, Saturday 10-6 pm, Sunday 12-5 pm. This LFS does not have any specialty other than being a full-service aquarium store. They have everything from tanks, aquascaping supplies, freshwater, saltwater, and all the stuff which goes with. If you are into corals, they can take care of you. If you keep planted tanks, they have you covered. Please see the pictures below to get an idea of the scope of the store. Another thing they are famous for is their center piece saltwater aquarium of 2200 gallons. The staff is very knowledgeable and anxious to serve.
It could have been the time I visited, just after lunch, but the store was busier than I have seen any other fish store. Even with this they were quick to ask if I needed assistance with anything. This is definitely a premium LFS! Not much to critic here other than some of their prices are high, so it pays to keep in touch with their sales as they always have a deal on something. The tanks are bright and clean, and the fish appeared to all be healthy. The aquatic plant spread is as good as I have seen, and I especially love the display tank. If I lived near Ft Collins this would be my go-to store. The only thing they do not carry is Koi or pond supplies which Alpine Koi and Reef has a great selection of. The Fish Crew has something for everyone from novice to expert. Since they are a premium store both the service and the prices reflect this.
Aquarium enthusiasts travel great distances to visit this store and I am right there with them. It is worth the trip! If all you do is visit to see the display tanks, then your efforts will be rewarded. It is hard not to buy something here, as they have so many kewl fish, plants, corals, shrimp, and supplies. It ranks in the top five LFS in Colorado. Of course, everyone has their favorites. If you have not already seen this store, put it tops on your LFS crawl list.
