This feels permanent and I just confirmed that it is. Here is the latest from Exotic Aquatics. Their doors are closed, and the remaining stock is available by appointment. The current owner, Myk Brown, released this statement:
“It comes with great sadness to inform our customers Exotic Aquatics has officially closed the doors for good. We have a lot of fish that need homes. (Lots of community fish, and tons of african cichlids) I will be available Tuesday thru Wednesday if anybody wants to come see what's left, but PLEASE MESSAGE FIRST BEFORE ARRIVING to make sure I’m there. Bring your own buckets, please. There's also a Home Depot 4 minutes down the road if you need fresh buckets. Not asking for money for the fish. I wanna make sure they get homes first and foremost. If there's anything else in the shop you'd like, I'm happy to take offers. Everything's goin’ cheap. Please don't ask me what fish I have left. There's a lot. Just come see.
*** TWENTY DOLLAR USED 40 BREEDER TANKS AND 65 GALLON TALLS (same footprint as 40b)
*** 50 BUCKS FOR USED 125 GALLON TANKS. (1 used for saltwater, 2 used for fresh) Steel racks also available that will hold 4 tanks each. Lots of live rock too. I can deliver anything, but I can only take a single 125 gallon at a time, just a heads up. Pm for details on that.”
This fish store has had a bumpy ride the past few years, so it is no great surprise another LFS closes. There will be more to come I am afraid.
