Elite Reef is located near the heart of the Denver Metro area at 80 E 64th Ave Unit C Denver, CO 80221. The hours are Closed on Mondays, Tuesday thru Friday 12-9, Saturday and Sunday 11-7. When I arrived at the store my thoughts were this will not take long, the place is small. Upon entering I was shocked at the size and inviting space which lay before me. It is a saltwater only store, yet the livestock is toward the back, so the entrance area is brightly lit and welcoming. They have a fragging station opposite of the front desk and the supplies are beyond this. They offer everything I saltwater enthusiast would need, including live and frozen food, lights, filtration, live rock, etc. The corals have their own space in the center of the store with the fish along the back right wall. In the coral area they have three display tanks which I found most impressive. Be sure to see the photos below to get your own impression, though as I am discovering, photographing blue lighted tanks yields poor results. I am working on improving my skills in this department.
Elite Reef is one of the few LFS’s on the Front Range I had yet to visit, and I must say I am blown away. If I kept saltwater tanks, I would put this store at the top of the list. While I have three more stores to visit in the Denver area, Elite Reef totally lives up to its name. They rank right up there with Aquatic Art which I have already featured. I have no complaints about this store. The tanks are clean, and the livestock are healthy. I suppose if I was picky, they do have a strict return policy, though I was assured they will work with the customer. The staff seems very knowledgeable. Their website, linked above, has loads of info about their store and the services they offer. I suggest visiting it before visiting the store. Definitely put them on your fish crawl list!
