Aqua Culture in Parker, CO at 10336 Dransfeldt Rd UNIT 8, remains open Thursday – Sunday 12-6, Mon-Wed by appointment only. Each time I visit my expectations run high, only to be let down upon arrival. Tariq talks a good game and in the coral department I am sure he wins. Frankly, I may be overreacting, but the store has looked better.
Review the photos below and see what you think. The display tank up front has definitely looked better and the used equipment being the first thing you see when you enter the store seems like a letdown to me. I don’t even know if it is for sale, there were no prices. I miss the display tank that was here many moons ago. The front desk was occupied by the family pet lizard of some type in a big terrarium which I could not even see. The main room feels nicely laid out, but most of the tanks were empty. Even the coral tanks were a bit sparse. I assume this means business has been good and the livestock is just sold out. The monster display tank in the rear sits in the same state it was in when I was last here months ago. We all have different priorities, though I would love to see this LFS taken more seriously. At the moment it serves the owner and not the public.
My visits here will continue from time to time. My focus will be on making my stops here on Thursday or Friday. This was a Sunday visit, and they were closed on Saturday for a family event, so they were very busy. This means to me that I need to be there as their week starts and not at it ends. A big plus is their prices are very good and the livestock they did have looked nice and healthy. So, if you are in the neighborhood, stop in and see what you can find.
