Aqua Culture has found its focus and steps firmly into its future. They are saltwater only specializing in corals. They do installations and maintenance during the week and are open Friday and Saturday. If you desire their services any other day, just call and set an appointment. The store has been slightly rearranged now that the freshwater tanks are gone. It is surprising how much more room there is without really losing any tank space. While their fish and invert stock were low when I was there Saturday afternoon, Tariq assured me they had another big shipment coming soon.
A few things characteristic of saltwater stores is they have a station for RO and Seawater, or they get it for you. Frankly, I never knew how hard something that seems simple could be. Mixing saltwater takes practice to get it just right. Also, they have a coral station set up for fragging, which all the salt only stores seem to have. One thing uncharacteristic of saltwater stores, they quarantine all their fish before they even make it into the store. The other thing I love about the store is they actually have some macroalgae. Not much mind you, but at least they had some. I keep a saltwater planted tank, so when I find macros, it puts a smile on my face.
In closing, Aqua Culture has stepped into this space and made the most of it. It continues to evolve, and I expect by the holiday season they will be ready for some major business. For anything saltwater on the southeast side of Denver, this place is well worth the trip.
