Animal Attraction 2024

(Click any picture to enlarge)

This past Labor Day weekend I decided at the last minute to visit Animal Attraction, 2518 11th Ave, Greeley, CO 80631. Their hours are 9-7 Monday thru Friday, Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 11-6pm. They specialize in exotic reptiles and fish. So, anything you may need for your terrarium, aquarium, or paludarium you’ll find here. They have been keeping used equipment for sale outside the front door which kinda looks trashy, but I suppose it serves a purpose. The display tanks at the front look great as usual and the freshwater plants for sale are lush and attractive. Everything seems well stocked and while it was slow they had several associates doing cleaning and waiting on a few customers. In the back fish tank area, I came across a pump running in an empty trash can (used for water changes) and I had to inform the staff who was chatting in the other room. Pumps will burn out rather quickly from my experience, so ignoring them leads to expensive replacements. I noticed one of the big display tanks up top as you enter the fish tank area is empty, probably in transition. Same goes for two of the coral frag tanks. They sit empty. For the most part as you will see in the photos attached below, the place is looking really good.

One thing I noticed this time around is the reptile area has grown and seems busy. They now have a beautiful Mangrove Monitor lizard right up front by the desk. Since this is the only Exotic pet store in the NE part of Colorado, they are sure to do good business, even with higher prices than average. An hour ride from Denver and over 30 minutes from Ft Collins this LFS sits alone which explains why they serve every aspect of the aquarium hobby and more. On a different note, while in the fish tank area I noticed they keep aquariums right on the floor. They stock cool water fish in those tanks like goldfish and bristlenose plecos. This is something I have rarely seen in my LFS adventures, but if it works, then why not. If you live anywhere in the NE part of Colorado, I recommend stopping in and giving them a look see. They may just have what you’ve been look for.
