About Fish remains the best LFS in the state for freshwater fish unless you’re looking for nanofish. This LFS covers the bases really well, so it’s easier to say what they don’t have. They don’t have saltwater and the selection of nanofish (the smaller rasbora, tetras, and corydoras) is hit or miss. If you’re looking for cichlids or catfish they have you covered. The selection of Angelfish and Discus are about as good as anywhere. The African cichlids section is the best I have seen. There is no store which has every fish you could want, so it does take some looking around. Livestock will vary depending on what is available in that season. If in doubt, call first. Find this LFS at 7236 N Federal Blvd #700, Westminster, CO 80030, just south of I-36. They’re open 10-8 Wednesday and Thursday, 10-6 Monday, Tuesday and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they are open 11-5. Here is what I don’t care for at this LFS, long narrow access to the tanks, age is showing despite new paint and deep cleaning, and prices can be high on certain items. Taking advantage of the sales on the newsletter helps greatly with easing the sting on the purse strings. What I love about this LFS is the service and level of expertise they bring to their customers. The livestock choices are diverse and abundant; for example, I’m amazed at not only the numbers of Discus they have, but the variety as well. I visit on Thursdays so the place was very well stocked, but I can assure you that by Sunday afternoon the selection will be greatly reduced. The plant section empties out rather quickly come the weekend.
