About Fish seems to be the go-to place for anyone in the northern half of the Denver Metro. I have shopped there many times myself. It’s located at 7236 N Federal Blvd # 700, Westminster, CO 80030. They are open 10-6 M,Tu,Th,Fr,S, 10-8 Wed. and 11-5 Sun. Check out their website for details and follow them on Facebook for weekly deals and lists.
Their selection of fish is diverse and expansive. Somehow, they usually have the latest “hot” fish on the market along with unusual fish which are hard to find elsewhere. On my visit last week, I saw several fish I had not seen anywhere else before. I hear folks talking about their nice saltwater fish and supplies, but frankly I just don’t see them as a saltwater fish store.
The way the store is laid out makes it difficult to browse and I get a bit claustrophobic when I am there. At the front desk they have all their supplies, rock, and driftwood. If I were to say what their specialty is, I would have to go with Cichlids, though they have many other types of fish too including Betta’s and Saltwater fish. As per usual, I recommend they be added to your list of stores to visit. If you are close by you have probably already made them your go to store. I am not sure how long they have been in their current location, but I can say that Matt or one of the other of their many staff will take good care of you.
On a side note, most stores will take back fish they have sold, and many will take “rescues”, and some will buy your locally breed fish. Just ask! If you are looking for a fish or plant but can't find it ask the store to order it for you, I've had great luck with this. When shopping for fish, but sure to find out what the return policy is and if applicable ask if they have a bargain tank (where they sell healthy returns and such). I am in no way saying this applies to About Fish! This is simply a P.A. I wish you all the best on your next LFS crawl.
